Ennerdale is understood to Up loading hardwood timber at Huon for Ldtelton and New Plymouth. Word of he;- departure is expected at any iiui-j now. PUPONGA COAL. The auxiliary scoiy Eclio is to load a cargo of coal at Puponga for New Plymouth.
; j " THE AURORA. ,i The Aurora, the sealing steamer which ]' carried Dr. Mawson's expedition, is a little wooden ship, slightly smaller than .1 the Terra Nova, of Captain Scott, but a ') great deal bigger than Shackleton's ! Nimrod—very nearly twice the size; that • is to say, she is 380 tons, as against i .about 220 tons of the Nimrod. She is ; I 105 ft long, ,30y 2 f.t broad and 28.0 ft deep. [j The Aurora's captain is Captain J. K. ■ j Davis, who was captain of the Nimrod I I during the latter part of the Shackleton I expedition.
