ASSAULT CASE.
CRIMINAL POISONS HIMSELF. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Brisbane, July 11. Alfred Sylvester, aged 21, attempted to assault "a girl of" 17 on Saturday, near Gigendem He struck her on the head with a bottle, and injured her with a pocket-knife. The girl stated that she crawled a quarter of a mile, and she was found on Sunday morning in a critical state. Sylvester was found in the yard of a hotel suffering from lysol poisoning, and died on Monday.
