SHOT BY A LOVER. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 9, 12.40 a.m. Sydney, July 3. A tragedy has occurred at Mudgee. A jockey named Clude Phillips shot a girl named Raynor, a former sweetheart, three times i'n the head. The girl is dead, and Phillips, who shot himself, is in a precarious condition. A DOMESTIC TRAGEDY. Received 9, 12.40 a.m. Melbourne, July 8. A man named Moore, suffering from dementia, the result of influenza, attacked his aged mother with an axe. A sister prevented his killing the mother, but she is in a precarious state. Moore committed suicide with a razor.
