CO-OPERATIVE LABORERS
A CONCESSION WITHDRAWN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Labor Department has been informed by the Railway Department that the concession of 25 per cent, hitherto given on fares of men sent by employment bureaux to Government railway or road works, has been withdrawn. This will directly affect the men themselves, as they will, in all instances, have to pay the cost of travelling to the works. Where applicants' for employment have not possessed the sum required to purchase a railway ticket, the Labor Department has advanced the money, but a definite undertaking to repay it within a given time was always exacted.
