A WELLINGTON PROTEST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. The leading boot manufacturers deny the report, that the meeting held to-day opposed the agreement in the boot trade dispute and state that no meeting was held at all. With reference to a telegram from Christchureh. that the dispute in the boot trade has been settled, the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Boot Manufacturers' Association met to-day and passed the following resolution: — That steps be taken to prevent the present agreement being ratified by the Arbitration Court, on the ground that boot manufacturers were not consulted in respect to such agreement, believing the present dispute was to be referred to tlie Arbtration Court for settlement.
