The Federal revenue for the year was £20,534.605, which is £1,019,605 in excess of the estimates. The expenditure, including provision for the subsequent year in respect of old age pensions and fleet construction is £14,710.182, which is £1,172,432 above the Treasurers estimate. This left £5,824.422, or £48.172 above the estimate for return to the State Treasurers. Customs and excise yielded £14.711,440. and the Post Office £3,011,286, both well above the estimate. Land tax Drought £1,368.353, which is £64,000 under the estimate. Of £15,150.000 set aside for fleet construction only £1.108.212 was expended, due to the strike in England. The amount to the credit of the old age pen--1 sions and fleet construction funds has increased this year by £32(1.06(5. making 1 a total of £2.164.1414, which represents i the accumulated Federal surplus.
