.o $ NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. I The match for to-day is a bogey handi- ' cap for a prize presented by Mr. A. H. Glasgow. * Next Thursday the local club is sending out a team of ten or twelve players to play the Inglewood club on its own links, which are now in a much improved ! condition. The greens, in particular, ! have received a good deal of attention I and are much, truer than has previously \ J been the case. j Owing to the heavy rain on Thursday last, the first match for Mr. Medley's 5 trophy had to be postponed, and will I now probably be played on July 11. The I conditions attached to this trophy are as i follows: —Four or five matches are to ! be played during the season, and the ■ first, second and third playe.rs,;.on"each competition day will .receive three, two and,j/)flx'.. points respectively, and the player with the highest number of points at the end of the competition will be entitled to have his name engraved on the trophy and hold it until .it is won again next season. .The competition is open to all me.mb'ers. but must be played for qb.'Thursdays, and with the object of restricting the competition to Thursday players as much as possible, it has been decided that all competitors must start before "2.30 p.m. Should there be less Ithan eight competitors on any day appointed for one of these matches, that day's match will be abandoned and set down for a date later on in the season. ' As some confusion has been caused with regard to the notices calling for. entries for the senior and junior cham- \ pionsliip published earlier in the week, it • is desired to state that these entries j relate only to the ladies' championship, J and not to the men's.
