The newspaper Bengalee, commenting «n Lord Crewe's statement, says that it •was a pitiful spectacle to see a Liberal leader repudiating the plain solemn words of a despatch sanctified by the authority of the King. It adds that Bengal leaders will stick to the despatch. The Armitabazar asks whether, in view of the abandonment of the pretext for a change, Bengal should not demand the restoration of the capital.
