PROBABLE RAPPROCHEMENT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. New York, June 27. A rapprochement is probable between Mr. Roosevelt and Mr. Bryan. It is even suggested that the parties may agree to a compromise candidate, but the officials at headquarters deny the •tory. STILL FIGHTING. THE CONTENTION ADJOURNED. Received 28, 11.35 p.m. Baltimore, June 28. In spite of Mr. Bryan's orations, it is generally accepted that the contest lies between Mr. Wilson and Mr. Champ Clark. In the test roll-call Wilson polled 648, and Clark 438. A sensation was caused by Tammany Hall casting ninety New York votes in tWilson's favor. 0. L. James, a friend of Bryan's, has been elected chairman of the Convention. The Convention adopted a platform lowering the tariff in favor of Canadian products and the encouragement of .United States farmers, with a view to preventing emigration Canadawards. The Convention adjourned late at night, postponing the vote for the nomination of a Presidential candidate.
