REFINERY MANAGERS COMING. Cabled advice was received yesterday by the local directors of the Taranaki (N.Z.) Oil Weils, Ltd., from the London board of directors to the effect that the refinery managers are due ut New Plymouth on July 25. Plans of the building are coming with the managers, who will at once select a site and proceed with the erection of the buildings. As no mention of the machinery was made in the cablegram, it in presumed that its despatch has been hindered by the dockers' strike in London, and that it will arrive at New Plymouth soon after the advent of tn« managers. Labor conditions at the docks are approaching normal again in England, and so it is only reasonable to conclude that the machinery, which wan expected to bo ready for shipment at tht beginning of this month, will be despatched in a few days; that is, if it is not already on the water. The manager reports that good progress was made yester<lav at No. 1 bore, where operations for deepening ar* being carried out. Nos. 2, 3. and 5 wells are flowing as usual. According to "the Mercantile Gazette, a company .has been formed at Christchurch called the Taranaki and East ; Const Oil Co.. Ltd., with :< registered I capital of £21.000. The object of the I company is to purchase oil-bearing proI perties. '
