THE N.Z. RUGBY UNION. . By Telegraph—Press Association. ' Wellington, Last Night. The management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met to-night. A number of players were reported for playing the Northern Union game and were given fourteen days in which to show why they should not be disqualified. Seven Auckland players who had failed to reply to notices were expelled. It was resolved that the Auckland Union be written to, asking that inquiries be made regarding the report that members of the old Referees's Association had officiated at the League gunei. The New South Wales Rugby Union intimated its regret that the New Zealand Union declined to participate in the Californian tour. Matters in connection with the North v. South match, to take place at Napier on July 13, were discussed. The secretary, Mr. D. J. Avery, was instructed to proceed to Napier to superintend the arrangements. The teams will assemble at Napier on July 11. The following players have been nominated for the North and South Island teams:—North:—Wairarapa, A. Desmond, R. Spackman, A. Hodge, C. Groube, and D. Thompson; Taranaki, Stohr, Roberts, Brown, Cain, Young, and Dewar; Hawke's Bay—A Downing, McKenzie, and Manning; Bay of Plenty —R. Nuku, G. Rogers, and S. Darby; Wanganui—G. Rogers, W. Dustin, R. Leahy, J. Tilyard, and Meuli; Poverty Bay and Kaipara—Peacock, Nicolas, McColl and Moana. South Island:—Nelson—Best, Hammond, Prussing, Boselmen, Hawk, and Vercoe; Canterbury— A. E. Doell, A. Mac Donald, H. Taylor', J. H. McGuffey, E. Hassell, W. Maxwell, T. Bain, W. J. Morgan, and J. Auld; South Canterbury—D. Scott, T. W. Lynch, A. Spillane, B. Hill, W. Dalton, and T. Oldfleld; Southland—J. Ridland, E. Biggar, A. C. Miles, and A. Mitchell; West Coast—Church and Richards.

THE NORTH ISLAND MATCH. The Wanganui representative selector (the Rev. W. B. Scott) haa nominated the following players from Wanganui for the North Island team:—L. Meuli, full-back; J. T. Tilyard, half-back, threequarter, or five-eighth; R. Leahy, forward (hooker or lock); W. Dustin, forward (wing or breakaway). The following will represent Okato in their match against Star at Okato on Saturday: Corbett, Wero, Malone, Rua, Anderson, Turner, E. Andrews, McKay, R. Andrews, Barney, Drader, O'Sullivan, R. Julian, Ngaia and Charley. ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL. p < n A senior Association match will be played on the Tukapa ground at 2.15 p.m. to-day between teams representing Stratford and New Plymouth. The following will represent New Plymouth:— McGomish, Hayden, J. Wylie, Langridge, Towes, Hedley, Elliott, Lawrence, Sac, Gwillim, and other.
