The first tests at the State lime works at Manning river were successful, using Schmateller kilns. Mr. Griffiths intends to follow the New Zealand Government's scheme of supplying fanners with cheap lime. VIA WIRELESS. Sydney, June 26. The Pennant Hills wireless station, during ray tests, heard the Wimmera off Napier and the Pioneer in Wellington harbor. RAILWAY ALLOWANCES. Sydney, June 26. The hours of railway shunters and signalmen have boon reduced from nine to eight. Porters' wages have been raised from 7a 6d to Bs.
