GENEROUS BEQUESTS. By. Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Tuesday. -The late Sir John Campbell's will, after making provision for his widow and daughter, sets apart £7350 for employees of the firm of Brown, Campbell and Co., and £IOOO for the employees of Campbell, Ehrenfried and Co., for the Jubilee Institute for the Blind £SOOO, Country Clergy £2OOO, Discharged Prisoners £2OOO, three Salvation Army Homes each £SOO, St. John's Ambulance Association £IOOO, Orphan Trust Board £3OOO, Auckland Institute and Museum £ISOO, Society »for the Protection of Women and Children £SOO, Auckland College Council for the foundation of a Chair of Agriculture £20,000, maintenance of Cornwall Park £35,000, Maori Monument on One Tree Hill £SOOO.
HONORING THE DEAD. Auckland, Last Night. The funeral of Sir John Logan Campbell took place to-day, nearly all (the shops in the city being closed during the afternoon. As arranged, the body was laid to rest on the crest of Maungakiekie. Among the many wreaths sent was One from the Governor and Lady Islington. Colonel Campbell (a cousin of the deceased) was the chief mourner, awd the Hon. Colvin represented the Government. The procession Was witnessed by thousands, dense crowds gathering at many points. Before the burial service Canon McMurray read a short dedication service, the grave not being in consecrated ground. There were IGO vehicles in the procession.
