AN AUSTRALIAN DINNER

A TRIBUTE TO CHAMBERLAIN. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright: London, June 21. The delegates to the Overseas Commerce Commission were included among the guests at the Australian dinner. Sir George Reid paid a tribute to Mr. Joseph Chamberlain for bringing the Dominions into their proper relation to the Motherland. Whatever fiscal opinion was held, all were agreed that they should buy and sell from one another in preference to dealing with peoples outside the Empire. If Britain was to maintain her trade supremacy it must be by redoubling and cheapening productions. This doubling could go on without Reciprocity Acts of Parliament. They could begin immediately buying from one another.
