Sir George Reid, presiding at the Australasian dinner at the Trocadero Restaurant, proposing the toast of BritishAustralasian trade, strongly pleaded for the extension of inter-Imperial trade. He pointed out that there was a growing desire in European countries to relax the restriction interfering with the expansion of Australian and New Zealand trade with the world.
