The Judge, on taking his seat, announced that the jury were discharged till to-morrow. Subsequently counsel for the defendant stated that after hearing the evidence of the plaintiff defendant was satisfied that the article complained of was unjustified, and desired to apologise and withdraw it. By consent there would be a verdict for £IOOO, with costs, including the costs of the commission in England for the plaintiff. Judgment was entered accordingly.
