AUCKLAND CAPPING CEREMONY

INTERRUPTIONS RESENTED. Auckland, June 17. From the opinions expressed by members of the Auckland University College Council, it would appear that this year the Auckland Students' Capping celebrations passedl the bounds of good taste and order. The subject was introduced by the receipt of the following letter signed by Professor Egertori (chairman of the Professorial Board); — "I am directed by the Professorial Board to send you a copy of the resolution passed unanimously on the lOtk inst., as follows:—That in view of interruptions at the recent, capping, the chairman (of the board) be instructed to write to the Chancellor asking that the capping ceremony at Auckland! be suspended for at least one year." After a lengthy discussion it was resolved to defer the matter until the next meeting of the counoiL
