| A STATEMENT CORRECTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. Mr H. A. Gold, secretary to the Merchants' Association of New Zealand, wires to the Pre?s Association with ! respect to the evidence of Mr Nottingbefore the Cost of Living Commission, that Mt Harold Beauchamp asked the Jeyes Company to place the aiatribution of their compounds in the fcande of the Merchants' Association, denying its correctness. Mr Gold says there is nothing in ijhd correspondence to show this, and Mr Beauchamp informs him that no such request was made. What he asked wag that the manufacturers should protect their own article by seeing it was handled by those who distributed it at a reasonable rate of profit, and Jeys suggested' this. ■LEFT FOR AUCKLAND. Christchurch, Last Night. The Cost of Living Commission has concluded its sittings at Christchurch and left to-night for the north. The sittings in Auckland will open on Thursday afternoon.
