Mr Gold says there is nothing in ijhd correspondence to show this, and Mr Beauchamp informs him that no such request was made. What he asked wag that the manufacturers should protect their own article by seeing it was handled by those who distributed it at a reasonable rate of profit, and Jeys suggested' this. ■LEFT FOR AUCKLAND. Christchurch, Last Night. The Cost of Living Commission has concluded its sittings at Christchurch and left to-night for the north. The sittings in Auckland will open on Thursday afternoon.
