A FATAL STRIKE. New York, June 14. At Perthamboy, New Jersey, a thousand strikers stormed the American Smelting Company's plant. The deputysheriffs warned the crowd to desist, but fruitlessly. The sheriffs then opened '< fire, one of the strikers being killed and 1 three injured. AN HISTORIC GUN. Ottawa, June 14. The proposal to return the Americans' historic gun captured at Bunker Hill during the War of Independence has roused fierce opposition. The proposal was made in conjunction with the hun- . dred years' peace celebrations.
