A catalogue of superior furniture is advertised for sale by Nolan and Co. on Monday next. The furniture is of the best workmanship and has only been in use a few months. The Collard and Collard piano is a splendid instrument. Persons requiring good furniture should not fail to attend. The weather waa anything but perfect when the Western Park Committee held their last euchre party and dance, and consequently it did not prove such a success as was anticipated. However, this energetic committee propose holding their third series in the Brougham street hall on Wednesday next, when it is hoped that they will be rewarded with better weather and a good crowd. Some good prizes are offered to winners. The music for the dance will be supplied by Mrs. George's orchestra. The White Cross lectures by Mr. R. H. W. Bligh in the Empire Theatre tomorrow should draw large audiences. He speaks at 8 and 8.30 p.m. to men and lads over 14 years, and at 4 p.m. to women.
To-day the Melbourne's "job" sale offers many additional inducements to thrifty buyers.
