Mr. P. Godinagh, of Waitara Road, recently purchased the pedigree Jersey bull Exile A from Mr. H. Purdie. This animal is well-known as the sire of some of the best milking cows in the district. The Elthani Dairy Company manufactured last month 73,2201bs of butter, and will pay out to suppliers £3028 at the rate of liy 2 d per lb. The average test was 4.7. In the corresponding month of last year the quantity manufactured was 70,0611b5, and the pay out, at lid per lb, £3003. Taking the periods from September to May inclusive, the figures for the two vears are:— 1910-11, 1,884.6781bs manufactured. £OB,801 paid to suppliers; 1911-12, 1.886,168 lbs manufactured, £77,020 paid out. The increase in the output in the current season over the previous one was therefore 14901bs and the increase in the pay out £BB2B. During the 1010-11 season the price of butter ranged from lOd in September to lid in May while in September, 1911, the rate was ll%d, Mid during the remaining months liy s d.
