The Cuban revel leaders are still exacting money and arms from property owners in isolated districts, and threatening to hum their homes if they refuse to comply with any demand. General Estonez, the real leader of the negroes, has captured and burned Lamaya, 30 miles from Santiago de Cuba. A force of armed townsmen that attempted to defend the place was compelled to retreat to the hills. Rumors continue to be heard >of the general uprising that is being planned in Havana, and these reports are strengthened by the fact that within the last few days 'thousands of knives and daggers have been sold to negroes. Several minor skirmishes have taken place lately between the Government troops and the insurgents.

ANOTHER BATTLE. ARTILLERY WORKS lIAVOO AMONG REBELS. New York, June 10. Cuba's little waT is still in progress. Latest messages report a battle, in which the Government troops brought their artillery to bear on the negroes with terrible effect. The fighting took place at.Mayari, in the province of Santiago de Cuba, and resulted in 17 rebels and 18 of the women by whom they were accompanied being killed. An American rancher is said to have, been taken prisoner by the negroes. It was cabled the other day that the United States was preparing to despatch 5000 troops to Cuba.
