A PERSONAL TRIBUTE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, June 12. A brilliant reception was accorded to Sir Henniker Heaton at the Guildhall by five hundred persons. The Lord-Mayor presided. Lord Curzon, in presenting an album containing a thousand signatures of leading public men of the Empire, said that it was a remarkable meeting to do konor to a remarkable man. Sir Henniker Heaton had, by his firm grasp of a great idea and by his unwearing tenacity, proved himself a benefactor of mankind. Received 12, 9.30 p.m. London, June 12. Many politicians, including the leading commercial representatives, Sir W. Hall-Jones, Sir Geo. Reid and the AgentsGeneral, were at the presentation to Sir Henniker Heaton. Lord Curzon said that Mr. Henniker Heaton's work was one of interest to international peace, Imperial unity and commercial progress. 6ir Henniker Heaton, in thanking the audience, referred to the help he had received from Mr. Joseph Chamberlain. If the Government had spent what it now •pent on mail subsidies seventy years ago it could have had a penny-a-word cable to the most distant part of its possessions.
