A NEW PROPOSAL. By Telegraph—Press Association, Dunedin, Last Night. A deputation waited on the Hon. Geo. Laurenson to-night for the purpose of suggesting that the area over which a poll on the question of a Saturday halfholiday should be taken should be extended to twenty or twenty-five miles. The Minister said that he tliougni the proposal would provide a good way out of the difficulty, and overcome objections hitherto made by shopkeepers in the centres. He promised to do what he could to further the objects of the deputation.
