THE AUCKLAND SITTING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Monday. Giving evidence before the Education Commission, Mr. Crowe, secretary of the Auckland Board of Education, said that the board felt that the control of technical education should be placed in the hands of an associated board on which the local bodies were given representation. Mr. T. W. Leys, vice-president of the Library Association, urged that better provision should be made for school libraries. Statistics proved t hat apart from the advantage derived from the wholesome supervision of juvenile reading. the provision of good school libraries enormously assisted in the education of the community. The Commission will leave on Tuesday night for Dunedin direct, and visit Invercargill, Christchurch, Wanganui and Wellington, in that order.
