THE MALTA CONFERENCE. Bv Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 10, 11.30 p.m. London, June 10. The Daily Mail says that the Malta conference decided that, owing to the necessity of concentrating in the North Sea, the naval and military policy of the Mediterranean must be changed. Subject to the Imperial Defence Committee's approval it proposes to add modern battleships to the present weak squadron of cruisers in the Mediterranean, and make some arrangement whereby France will share th" :-c of the protection of British interests in the Mediterranean. No formal alliance is contemplated.
