THE KINGS'S BIRTHDAY
REJOICINGS AT HOME. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 5, 12.50 a.m. . London, June 4. The King's birthday was celebrated quietly. Union Jacks were llown at the Dominions' offices and agencies. The King has awarded medals to the officers and "bluejackets engaged in succouring the steamer Delhi.

His Majesty the King is an honorary colonel of the Ist Regiment of Infantry of Canterbury. Yesterday, on the occasion of the King's birthday, Lieut,Col. Smith sent the following message to His Majesty in London: "The Ist Regiment of Infantry has the honor to offer congratulations and assurances of loyalty to the Throne and Empire.—George J. Smith, Lieut.-Colonel." This morning the following reply was received from His Majesty: "London, June 3, 1912. Lieut.-Col. George Smith, Ist Regiment Infantry, Christchurch,—Please convey my sincere thanks to all Tanks of the Ist Regiment of Infantry, N.Z., for their expressions of loyalty and good wishes. —George R. and I."
