TARIKI DEFENCE CLUB. , (From Our Own Correspondent). The annual competition meeting of the Defence Rifle Club was held on May 30, and, the weather being perfect, a pleasant day's sport resulted. Mr. R. Hancock again succeeded in winning the challenge cup, compiling the fine total of 1 99 at the 200, 500 and 600yds—a record score for tOie local range. Mr. G. Ackland, the runner-up, also shot very well, 'making 93 off the gun at the t|)ree ranges. The four highest scorers at each range were winners of cash prizes, and the first five off the gun at the three ranges shot off seven extra, shots at the '6ooyds for the grand aggregate for the challenge cup.
