MOROCCO
THE SITUATION IN FEZ. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Paris, May 31.
The situation at Fez is grave. A caravan has been looted on the MOl quinez road. The tribes have raised the sacred flag of Zaolia Mulai-Yid-rin, which was taken from the Marabout's tomb. Several hundred Bergers gained an entrance on Tuesday, and it seemed likely that it would be necessary to defend the streets foot by foot. The populace, however, did not support the attack, which became exhausted. On Wednesday the French took the offensive. Five of the French were killed and eigtit wounded.
