The licensed victuallers' conference adopted a resolution in favor of workteg for the abolition of local option, and, in lieu thereof, the appointment of licensing boards to say where hotels should be opened or closed. The suggestion by a Queensland delegate to levy 5s per hogshead of beer towards funds for fighting their opponents met with a favorable reception.
