A wireless message from Hawaii Island, dated May 25, says that the summit of Maunaloa is enveloped in smoke. It is believed that the crater is in active eruption. A slight earthquake has been recorded. EXPERIENCE ELSEWHERE. By Telegraph —Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. There was a sharp earthquake at 6.5 p.m. on Sunday. One chimney at Parnell fell 'with a crsh. No damage is reported elsewhere. Ingle wood, Yesterday. There was a smart shock of earthquake at 6.5 last night. The direction was east and west, and tlio duration 50 seconds. Ilawera, Yesterday. There "was a very sharp earthquake at Hawera at five minutes past six last evening, las't several seconds. Hamilton, Yesterday.
