FEDERAL POLITICS

RECIPROCITY WITH NEW ZEALAND. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 27, 11 p.m. Melbourne, May 27. Mr. Fisher declared that the extent of his proposed reciprocity treaty with New Zealand is the whole hog. Twenty years ago he thought New Zealand would come into the federation. The same ideal should be kept in front now. "If we cannot go the whole way now," he said, 'let's go as far as we can." He had been told that the feeling in favor of an Australasian federation was growing. He thought it righ't that whether it was growing or not they should encourage it. The fat&s and fortunes of the Dominion and the Commonwealth were wrapt together, and they must float or sink together, whether they desired it or not. Other people had decided that. He declined to comment on the statement that Sir Joseph Ward had been urged to enter Federal politics.
