HAWERA LAND SALE

iSOME BIG PKICES. On Saturday last, at Hawera, the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co., :.td., held an important auction sale of land on account of various vendors. The catalogue included some of the finest dairying land in the vicinity of II aw or a, and the acreage submitted totalled over 2200 acres. The attendant was the largest and most representative ever seen i,n Taranaki, and although special arrangements had been made, the accommodation was taxed to its utmost. The eagerness* with which the good lots were competed for clearly showed the excellent demand for first quality land still existing. Considering t/hat the greater portion of the section*. i sold carried no buildings, the prices obtained, said the auctioneer, can he looked upon as eminently satisfactory. The first submitted was on account'of Mr. Charles Goodson, and the followino sales were effected under the hammer:Lot 7: 50% acres, to Walter at £59 10s per acre. Lot 8: 49% acres, to I. S. Hardier and others, at £SO per acre. Lot 12: 67 acres, to Lawrence KavanI ngh, at £67 10.3 per acre, j Lot 13: 51 acres, to Timothy Hurler at £6B per acre.

Lot 50% acres, to W. J. Laurent, at £(SB per acre. Lot 15: 51 acres, to I. S. Hardier and others, at £64 10s per acre. Lot 16: 50% acres, to G. H. Blackwell. at £{>!) per acre.

Lot 17: 50% acres, to Jamea Crocker at £oo per acre. The second area offered was on a«oonnt of the estate of the late Joseph Allowing sales we*>
