A MAGNIFICENT INSTRUMENT

The present age is unique for its inventitive genius, and nowhere is this fact more strikingly brought home than in the attention paid in late years to music. By a wide range of inventions, music has become more and more popular, and it bids fair to have a still larger following by the introduction of a beautiful mellow-toned instrument, manufactured by the Aeolion Company. One of these has been landed at New Plymouth by Mr. L. E. Hoffmann, of the British Piano Company, to the order of a local gentleman. It is a magnificent piece of work, in a handsome walnut frame, and since its arrival has been greatly admired by a continuous stream of music lovers, who have been attracted by the beautiful orchestral music it renders. It is an instrument that appeals especially to persons who appreciate serious music, and has been the means of bringing the greatest music into the homes of those people who are In the fortunate position of being able to acquire one. The Orchestrelle, with the special orchestrated music, is an Interpreter of music with a range as wide as the modern orchestra. It is capable of playing with full orchestral effects everything that has been written since the times of Bach, Mozart, and Handley, from Beethoven's Fifth Symphony to light opera, danoe music and popular melodies. The purchaser has kindly consented to allow the instrument, which is played pianola fashion, to be ex-' hibited at the Winter Show.
