INGLEWOOD (7j v. KAPONGA (0). From the start Inglewood went right through, and after give and take play Priest shot an easy goal. From the bully-off Inglewood again invaded Kaponga's territory, and Harris found the net with a good shot at the end of a fine passing rush. The Kaponga men new rallied, but their shooting was defective, and combination was lacking, so very shortly they were hard at it defending their own goal. Priest shot the next goal for Inglewood. Two more were scored during the first half, toy Spurdle and Jim Harris. Changing over, the j Kaponga. men invaded the Reds' terri- j tory, and could not be dislodged for some time, but their shots again went wide, Inglewood having three narrow escapes in a few minutes, principally as the re- J suit of selfish tactics by several of the i attacking side. The second half, on' the whole, was pretty even, but the I combination of the northern men, and their short passes, placed the southerners at a distinct disadvantage. Jim Harris scored both goals in the. second half, and the game ended: Inglewood 7, Kaponga 0. • The Inglewood team will meet Hawcra at Inglewood on Wednesday. As most of tlw matches are being played at Eltham this year, and teams from the north arrive late by train, it would be a graceful act on the part of the Eltham Club t > sec that the ground is prepared and marked, and the goals covered with .vh ; netting. This hint will probably le si;fi"icicnL as the Eltham men are good sports. ELTHAM (3) v. KAPONGA B (2).
