Bridge Party.—On Saturday, Miss G. Shaw gave a very pleasant bridge party, and the prizes were won by Miss Brewster and Mr. W. King. Thomson, dark green silk, pretty golden brown satin opera coat. Tennis Ball—The N.P. Tennis and Croquet Club held their annual! ball in the Brougham-street Hall last Thursday evening, which was artistically decbrated with flags, tennis racquets, croquet mallets, etc. I feel sure everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves, as the air was keen for dancing, and there was an equal number of partners—a rare thing in dancing circles in New Plymouth nowadays. The supper table was'beautifully decorated with autumnal tints, and silver shaded candle sticks, and excellent music was rendered by Mrs. Woods' orchestra. There were three debutantes, and all carried bouquets. Miss J. Hempton wore a very pretty white satin, with ninon tunic edged with a silken fringe and lightly trimmed with silver; Mis? Greatbach, dainty white ninon, over a satin foundation," corsage trimmed with tiny chiffon roses; Miss Foote, .white chiffon taffeta, with dewdrop net tunic smartly trimmed with silver. The chapcrones were Mrs. D. Newman, who wore black silk, with cream lace shoulder scarf; Mrs. Bewley, black velvet, real lace berthe, relieved with pink rose; Mrs Leatham, black silk, trimmed with sequinned embroideries; Mrs. Paul, very handsome old gold satin charmeuse, with black sequinned net tunic; Mrs. Glasgow, emerald green striped ninon, over violetcolored ailk, the tunic being trimmed with emerald green embroideries; Mrs. Roy, dove grey silk.
