MAGNIFICENT GIFT
PRINCELY GENEROSITY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 23, 0.20 p.m. Sydney, Mav 23. Under the will of Mr. W. R. Hall, of Mt. Morgan mine fame, whose estate was valued at several millions,' £50,000 has been left to charities in New South Wales and Queensland. The widow, as residuary legatee, lias now decided to devote the income from a million pounds to charities, half going to New South Wales, and a quarter each to Queensland and Victoria. Trustees have been appointed to administer the gift. The charity has been denned as for the relief of poverty, the advancement of the Anglican religion, the advancement of education, and the general benefit of the community, with a stipulation that one half of the income shall be devoted to women and children.
