CORRESPONDENCE.
MR. CORBETT'S EVIDENCE. To the Editor. Sir,—As I don't very often trouble you, perhaps you will grant me a little space in reply to Mr. Elwin on the above subject. If Mr. Elwin had read my evidence carefully he would have seen that I did not claim to have carted 600 or 700 loads of his flax. What I stated, and I think stated clearly, was that I had bought a large quantity of his flax and delivered it to the mill, and, also, that he had cut a large quantity which was delivered to the mill by his own team irrespective of that which wag delivered by me. When I gave my evidence I thought the total amount would be about what I stated, and I am still of the same opinion. I did not fortifv my statements by books, because until about 15 minutes before I gave niy evidence I did not know I was to be called. If Mr. Elwin desires, I can supply him with the names of several whom he employed to cut his flax.—T am, etc., H. CORBETT. Warea, May 22, 1012.
