He states that the parent body in New South Wales is determined to establish the game in New Zealand and has voted £ISOO for the purpose. In Auckland the Northern Union game has "caught on," and now six senior teams and twenty-five junior clubs are in existence, whilst judging from promises made Wellington will shortly follow suit. Mr. Gillett, who has just returned with the New Zealand members of the Australasian team which toured Great Britain, is the New Zealand selector, and is hopeful of getting the best talent Wellington can produce in view of the match between Australia and New Zealand in August and for the proposed Australian tour as well. Interprovincial matches are to be arranged. The league has secured suitable grounds in Wellington.
