Old Boys beat Parnell by 8 points (two tries, one converted) to nil. Two players were ordered off in the second spell. They were A. C. Wilson (captain of the Parnell team) and Dennehy (Marist Bros.), two ex-Wel-lington forwards.

College Rifles, who are playing in senior grade for the first time, beat Ponsonby by 13 points (three tries, two converted) to 6 (two tries). Christchurch, May 19.

A big crowd gathered to see the game between Merivale and Sydenham, the leading teams in the senior Rugby competition. Merival won by 11 points to fi. after & hot game. Other results: Cihristchureh. 9 v. Albion 8; Canterbury College 8 v. Linwood 6; Old Boys 19 v. Marist's 3.

Dunedin, May 19. Rugby results:—University 5 beat Zingari 0; Union 6 beat Taieri 4; Southern 33 beat Pirates 0; Dunedin 13 beat Alhambra 6; Kaikorai 11 beat Port Chalmers 0.
