A MOTOR FATALITY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Carterton, Saturday. At the inquest on Owen Arthur Cadwallader a verdict was returned that deceased met his death through shock and burns sustained in a motor-car aecident. The verdict is in accordance with the medical evidence.

A SUSPICIOUS DEATH. Wellington, Last Night. Elizabeth Henderson, a married woman, died suddenly at Kaiapoi yesterday, and at the inquest there to-day sensational evidence was given. Dr. Crawshaw said that the woman was pregnant. Death had been caused by abnormal conditions, which might have been caused by the use of an instrument; The deceased's nine-year-old son said that Mrs. Bridget Chalk was with his mother when she died. The inquest was adjourned until May 24. Mrs. Chalk was subsequently formally charged with having caused the death of Mrs. Henderson by an unlawful act. She was remanded until May 24. DEATH IN A BATH. Wellington, Last Night. Arthur Sidney Awdry, a married man, who was employed as collector on the Dominion newspaper, was found dead in a batli of water at his residence last night. Mrs. Audrey went out shopping at 7.3t, and on returning at nine o'clock found her husband in the bath, dead.
