THE KING'S BIRTHDAY

TERRITORIAL ORDERS.

Major F. T. Bellringer is in receipt of a district order by Colonel Chaytor, Commander of the Wellington Military District, to which the 11th Regiment Taranaki Rifles is attached, relative to th« King's Birthday parade on June 3. Init he states that the troopa at Palmerston North, Wanganni, New Plymouth, Napier, Hastings, fiishorne and Masterton will be reviewed at 12 noon by the senior officer present at each place, and that every effort must be made to obtain as large a muster as possible, but no expenditure for bringing men in from outlying drill centres will be authorised; that all parades will be formed up for inspection at 12 noon. Where a review is held the procedure will be on the lines of a programme to be issued later; where no review is held the troops will be inspected by the senior officer present, and will afterwards give a royal salute, sing one verse of the National' Anthem, and give three cheers for Ilis Majesty the King; that dress will ho drill order with slouch hat; that veterans, officers on the reserve and retired list, members of Parliament, and members of municipal bodies are invited to attend, and that the parade on th# King's Birthday will count as a whole day parade, and any parade held for the purpose of rehearsals will count a« a half-dav parade.
