A PRESBYTERIAN VIEW. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, May 16. The Presbyterian Assembly has concluded its deliberations on the question of the Union of Churches. The Assembly carried an amendment disapproving of the clauses regarding the appointment of ministers, and decided to forward the amendment to the General Assembly of Australia, without committing itself to the scheme of policy as a whole.
PASTORAL OFFICE. Melbourne, May 16. The Presbyterian Assembly agreed to urge the Union of Churches Committee to allow the scheme of settlement and the tenure of pastoral office at present in operation in the Prsbyterian Church to remain as an alternative to the scheme embodied in the proposals.
