RATES OF PAY. London, May 12. Lord Mersey's award in connection with the Northumberland Conciliation Board fixed minimum rates for underground workers as follows: Day workers 4s 9d, pier workers 5s Bd, boys 2s to 3s 6d (according to age), putters.4s, deputies, hewers and enginemeri 5s 6d. The hewers' claims were Cs 3d to 7s 9d.
