The Presbyterian Assembly adopted a resolution 'hoping that the day was not distant when the New Hebrides ; wou!d be entirely under British control. Professor Maclntyre declared that the present dual control was hopeless. AN UNFOUNDED RUMOR. Melbourne, May 11. Mr. Fisher discredits the rumors of France's intention to cede the New Hebrides 'to England in exchange for compensation elsewhere. Official information he has received does not mention such an intention.
