THE IMMEDIATE RESERVE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 12, 5.5 p.m. London, May 11. Men joining the immediate reserve will undergo 28 days' sea training annually. Otherwise they will be free to follow their civilian occupation. Speaking in the House of Commons on March 19, Mr. AVinston Churchill said that he proposed to create a new force called the immediate reserve, comprising retired men who have served from five to ten years, limited to 5000, wherewith he would be enabled to man at short notice the seventh battle squadron and the cruiser squadron.
