MR. ROOSEVELT EXPLAINS. By Cable—Press Association—JCopyright. Ottawa, May 9. Writing to a newspaper at Halifax, explaining his references to Canada in a recent letter he sent to President Taft, Mr. Roosevelt says that he never favored the annexation of Canada; and he expresses the hope that no ill-feeling will result. He has always wished the two nations to live in harmony along their borders.
