A MEAT KING
PROHIBITIVE DUTY SUGGESTED. By Cable—Press Association—'Copyright. Perth, May 9. The town clerk of Fremantle, reporting against the Government proposal to erect State abattoirs, makes strong charges against an alleged meat ring. He shows that cattle are exported to Asiatic countries at a much cheaper rate than they are supplied locally. He advocates a prohibitive export duty as the most effective means to check the ring and cheapen prices.
