HOCKEY.
J TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. f A meeting of delegates to the Tara- , naki Hockey Association was 'held at New Plymouth laat evening, there being present:—Messrs. Ralph (Waitara) in the chair, Harris (Inglewood), Burdekin (Eltham and Hawera), Avery (Kaponga). The headquarters of the association were fixed for New Plymouth, an Eltham motion to have them transferred to Stratford being negatived. It was decided to hold meetings of delegates alternately at New Plymouth and Eltham. I Mr. J. E. Avery was re-elected hon. secretary. The secretary was asked to communicate with the New Zealand Association, asking them to permit Taranaki to play Wellington for the challenge shield oil July 20, and that .the association be also asked to consider the challenge of Taranaki against Manawatu for the Norden Shield on July 24. FIXTURES. The following fixtures were arranged the home team being mentioned first): — NORTHERN DIVISION. May 16. —Waitara v. Inglewood, at Waitara; New Plymouth a bye. May 23. —Waitara v. New Plymouth, at Waitara; Inglewood a bye. May 30.—New Plymouth v. Inglewood. at New Plymouth; Waitara a bye. June 3.—Trial match North v. South,'at Hawera. The second round will commence on June 13, the grounds to be reversed. SOUTHERN DIVISION. May 15.—Eltham v. Hawera, at Eltham; Kaponga a bye. May 2 3.—Kaponga v. Eltham, at Kaponga; Hawera a bye. May 29—Kaponga v. Hawera, at Kaponga; Eltham a bye. The second round will commence on June 12, the grounds to be reversed. Home teams mentioned first.
