IMPORTING JAVANESE LABOR. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, May 8. The Lieutenant-Governor of Papua, who is visiting Sydney, states that industrial developments in the possession are proceeding satisfactorily, and prospects are very bright. The administration i 9 introducing Javanese laborers for a term of three years for the purpose of teaching the natives to tap rubber and cut sisal hemp. Plenty of native labor is available, but it is deficient in skill, which the Javanese will impart.
